Sensual Breast Massage

Womans Breast Massage
As well as being highly pleasurable, breast massage has considerable health benefits too such as, improving blood and lymphatic circulation, flushing out toxins, understanding and noticing any changes in the breasts, strengthening the muscle tissue in the chest and bringing awareness, healing and increased sensitivity to the whole area. If done with a partner it can also deepen intimacy with each other. The area of the breasts is often the seat of a woman's sexuality and a powerful portal into the heart. Massaging this area connects to the heart energy which, from a tantric perspective, is also one of the energetic positive poles in women. Women have different levels of sensitivity which can change during the massage and may feel anything from mildly/gently stimulating to highly arousing sensations, so touch given in a mindful and loving way is essential.

A woman can of course do this herself, or if her partner would like to give the massage, here are a few tips...

Make yourself comfortable ~ Women, lie on your back using cushions to prop yourself up a little if you wish, with knees slightly bent so your partner can sit between your legs. Your partner could also sit behind you, supporting you in a more upright position, with you leaning back into him.

Take time to connect ~ This is a time for both of you to relax, drop the busyness of the mind and enjoy. Depending on the position that you have chosen, the man could place one hand over the woman's heart centre and spend a couple of minutes just gazing softly at each other. If the man is behind supporting her, acknowledge each others presence by gently breathing together.

Stay present ~ Once you're ready to begin the massage, the man can try this visualisation...remain aware of your breath whilst feeling or visualising a warm energy travelling from your heart, through your arms, spreading into your hands and fingertips and continuing into wherever your hands are on your partners body. Women, also stay aware of your breath. Keep your full attention in your breasts, visualising them filling with energy as you slowly inhale and exhale.

Warm some oil in the palms of your hands. Good quality coconut, grapeseed or almond are great choices.

~ Start by placing your hands in the centre of the chest and then, using the palm of your hand and light pressure, massage around the breast using slow circular movements.
~ Massage from centre outwards towards the shoulder or underarm area.
~ Take your time to enjoy the sensations whilst you let your hand glide slowly over your partners skin.
~ Using both hands, lift the breast away from the chest and gently knead using a lifting and pressing action.
~ Again with both hands and a sensitive touch, gently twist the breast in a kind of wringing motion.
~ Softly stroke the area between the breasts, gliding your hands up with feather like strokes.
~ Placing your hand over the breast so that you can feel the nipple touching the centre of your palm, spread your fingers wide and then slowly begin to bring them together until they reach the nipple where you can give a soft, light pinch.
~ Using your thumb and finger, slowly begin to massage the nipple in a circular motion. Continue on to gently squeezing and then pulling the nipple towards you - or away from you if sitting behind her.
~ Repeat on the other breast

To finish the massage, be sure to integrate the breasts with the rest of her body. You can do this by gently sweeping your hands up the centre of her chest, over her breasts, down her arms and over her belly. Over the breasts, up the neck, sides of the face and through the hair is also great if sitting behind her.

Post Birth Tantra Massage

Woman in nature birth renewal
In many different cultures throughout the world, when a woman has given birth, it is recognised to be such a sacred and sensitive time. A woman is then given the time and the space to heal after the impact of childbirth. A Brazilian friend of mine explained that after giving birth she was to recuperate and heal for the first month in bed. Her only task was to breastfeed, her child brought to her when nourishment was needed and of course to bond! This idea is present in many cultures still today.

Also, when a woman has given birth, the pelvis drops and massage is needed directly if possible after and frequently to help it return to its natural place. This often takes place on a daily basis for the month following birth.

The trauma often experienced during childbirth, both emotionally and physically, can leave a strong imprint, so it is very important for healing and release of any less than positive memory stored in the body. Touch and healing massage are a great healer and help to integrate such a powerful experience.

Ecstatic birthing and empowered birthing are very much at the forefront today with women taking back the power and the knowledge that as woman, our bodies indeed have all the knowledge and wisdom we need to give birth - whether or not we choose to have conventional medical assistance and sometimes intervention, or the unconventional choice of a growing number of woman choosing unassisted birthing.

After the birth of my twins, healing massage was part of my recovery and felt essential to healing any residue of trauma I experienced. My birth was in many ways empowered, but I fought all the way for that choice. Just to share in short my own birth journey and some challenges I faced and my own need for healing... Whilst my labour was an amazing journey through hypno birthing and drug free, I was also amazed to experience a lot of natural serotonin flooding my cells and blissful sensations in the comfort of my own home, whilst immersed in water. My actual delivery happened in hospital under bright lights with a desperation for me to deliver quickly and with the constant threat of a cesarean thrust at me from the medical establishment. Unfortunately, I had been pushing for some time at home with little happening, so hospital was the next port of call where I delivered quickly and following my little boys infection we spent his first few days in hospital.

Luckily for me, Rachael was on hand to help me with that healing process and her sensitive intuitive touch allowed me to open to energetic wounds and holdings and release physically and emotionally. Also to reconnect to myself as a woman and not just a mother in the months following the birth.

In our experience in giving woman tantra massage post birth, alot of women are experiencing feelings of being cut off from their sexuality, low libido, loss of identity whilst integrating their new body image and lack of self love due to the new pressures of having to give out constantly.
Self love and reconnective massage can be vital in this integration process and a wonderful gift to give yourself or your partner.

Female Massage - Releasing Inner Wild Woman

Rose petals sensualFemale Tantric massage is an amazing journey and never ending discovery.
The experience of a full body massage in such a heart felt way by fellow woman is extremely healing.

This massage entitles us and welcomes us to completely surrender and fully let go. An opportunity to focus on ourselves, and remind ourselves how fascinating and complex woman's sexuality really is.
The surrender can be challenging as we are used to interacting and engaging when in an intimate situation. In your Tantra massage we will support and hold the space for you to really own your own experience which is truly healing and empowering.

In these sessions it is possible to experience a range of different things from emotional releases to ecstatic bliss. As woman we often hold on to trauma in our bodies that we are totally unaware of. Trauma from childbirth, painful periods, sexual abuse, shame or guilt, to name a few. Also from being touched in ways that were neither respectful or satisfying.

Our intention is to be fully present and open to your needs whilst setting clear boundaries necessary in honouring such a sacred experience.
In Tantra massage the journey is always the most important part and the focus on breathe helps to keep us present and alive in each moment we experience. Goalposts only get in the way, along with expectations. Our childlike curiosity will stand us in good stead for embarking on our wild personal adventure!

New wild woman

Woman stretching renewal and liberation
Being on the receiving end of a tantra massage is often a very powerful and healing experience. One of the most important things is to have a good feeling about the person or persons who will hold the space for the session to take place.

When we mention healing and specific reasons why you may benefit from a tantric massage with ourselves, our own journey and personal experiences receiving tantra massage have been so liberating. The feeling of deep connection experienced within oneself often brings out the primal instincts of the forgotten wild woman suppressed within. This is brought about by releasing holdings and trauma in the body that we are often quite unaware of. Tantra massage is extremely healing and beneficial for:

-Emotional release (very cathartic)
-Painful periods or menopause
-Sexual traumas or sexual blocks (often unconscious)
-Shame around sexuality, often caused by society's conditioning
-Opening the heart and integrating the whole of oneself
-Awakening and accessing your own ecstatic spontaneous energy which is often lying dormant waiting to be aroused. This can be truly life changing.

The experience of the above releases can be very intense as we let go of what no longer is serving us and make space for new vital lighter energy. You may experience spontaneous energy making the body shudder or the release of sounds (very grounding) which we will encourage you to allow as the body opens up. You may instead be experiencing a more internal process which is equally as beneficial as we trust whatever takes place within a session will be what is needed at your core level and is your own unique experience.

The massage itself is whole body with the intention of integrating our sexual energy, emotional body whilst remaining present and aware.
We fully respect and encourage your boundaries and wishes regarding the session.

The gift of unconditional touch

Woman receiving a gift of massage touchThe power of touch is so great it can lift your spirit to new heights or bring you down to earth with a thud! It can bring tingling, feelings of being adored, irritation, numbness, passion, excitement, warmth...what have you felt? There is no touch more amazing than one which is given purely for touch's sake. It is not being initiated as a precursor for sex or on condition that we return the favour. To allow ourselves to receive and receive fully, we must surrender any goals or specific outcomes and instead be tuned in with and relax into whatever we may be feeling in that present moment and the easiest way of doing this is to stay conscious with your breath.

To give unconditional touch can be an incredibly sensual and also healing experience, both for the giver and receiver. When giving, start by taking your awareness away from your partner and focus on your fingertips. Bring them to life! If you close your eyes when you begin to touch, this will heighten the feeling in the pads of your fingers. Make your intention one of meditation and visualise or feel the energy coming from your hands. Let your fingers sense what is desired in that moment instead of worrying about a technique.

You can use slow sweeping strokes, light stroking or even your breath. Blowing slowly up the spine will make your partner tingle! Let a hand just rest sometimes, perhaps on the heart, and connect with the eyes. Explore the texture of the skin. Where does it change? Can you find the very smoothest part? Feel your partner's body temperature and for any sensations such as vibrating, tenseness, relaxation. Caress along the inner arms and down to the centre of the palms. Use your mouth and your breath around the neck and ears. Don't overlook any parts of the body...you may be surprised which areas bring pleasure!

If you feel yourself forming an agenda or getting restless, acknowledge that as a distraction and let yourself move through it, letting it pass. The key to giving is staying present and connected to your partner, thus creating trust and opening the heart centre.

Moving to the same rhythm

Man Woman Dancing Closeness Rhythm
There are days and moments when we can all feel a little out of rhythm with ourselves or our beloved. Hopefully though our desire is to come back and reconnect. This is a very simple but intimate meditation using the breath to tune in and connect with another person.

To begin the man sits leaning against a wall or something that can support him. The woman sits in front and slowly leans back into him, facing the same way. Close your eyes and start to tune into your own breath. Take the breath slowly down into the lower abdomen. Relax. After about 3 or 4 minutes or when the man feels ready he will begin to tune into the woman's breathing. He will breathe in when she breathes in and again follows her when she breathes out. Give yourselves at least 10 minutes before you then swop over. Stay in the same position but the woman will now follow the man's breath. You can finish this meditation by just lying and holding each other or moving into lovemaking.

This meditation is a wonderfully simple way of bringing in closeness, harmony and intimacy and if you wish can also be followed on from the eye gazing practice.

Contraction and expansion

People jumping Expansion Energy Connection Sunset
Wow! Isn't it great to see the first signs of spring. Of course all seasons are special and should be welcomed for what they offer but often we have a preference or a season that is an instant mood enhancer.

That brings me to this month’s topic: Contraction as much as Expansion is a necessary part of our journey and growth and should be welcomed, for it teaches us to be vulnerable and allows us empathy and compassion and most of all acceptance of ourselves and others. Expansion of mind and body consciousness is what many of us strive to maintain in daily living. However, maintaining the state of expanded consciousness in an often busy frenetic world can be extremely challenging. It is often much easier for us to feel connected and experience heightened states of awareness whilst being part of a group dynamic such as a Tantric workshop or experiencing a Tantric session.

All our senses can be remarkably heightened, our perception sharper, our hearts open and receptive and our ability to connect with ourselves and others at a much deeper level. One of the beautiful things about being in a workshop or session space is we are usually forced to work through challenging issues and emotions that arise, but we are doing so in a safe and sacred environment that supports our process with likeminded people. We ourselves have experienced a wide range of emotions on workshops: from laughter to sadness, sometimes almost ready to make a run for the door. Thank goodness we stayed! Imagine what we would have missed...it has often been transformative.

Following Tantric workshops or sessions it is important to be aware that we may experience a period of contraction. This could be experienced in different ways such as feeling detached from ourselves and others as our heart yearns for the deep connection it has recently experienced. A sense of loss is sometimes felt as we struggle to hold on to our newly awakened state. We may also still be processing unresolved issues that have been repressed for some time.It can be challenging integrating our experiences in our relationships and day to day life, so it is vital to take care of yourself at these times and really listen to your body’s signals. It is like letting the dust settle. The great news is you will feel much lighter and in tune with yourself than you probably have felt in a very long time.

Another tip to integrating which we find tremendous fun is to attend interactive group get togethers. Luckily we are spoilt for choice in London. One of our favourites is Dynamic Meditation, practised in many venues throughout London...it really gets you grounded in your body as well as being very cathartic. Chi gong is always a firm favourite with the emphasis on being deeply rooted before starting to circulate ones energy. This helps with counteracting highs and lows and stabilising the body’s energies. A good place to start if you are looking to attend a chi gong class is chikungschool.com
So with these tips we hope this helps you to welcome and accept yourself as the fascinating tapestry you are!

A Tantric Paradise.

Woman bathing outside paradise
Fancying a little break we took ourselves off on a Tantric retreat. Flying into San Francisco then driving a couple of hours north we arrive at Harbin hot springs. Beautifully quiet - no phones allowed or work anyway, with hills and luscious greenery all around. Checking into our simple but pretty room which will be home for the next seven days and feeling excited and full of beans despite the jet lag!
Venturing out to explore we pass the library, divine temple, the market store selling delicious foods, fresh juices and various lotions and potions. An Aladdin’s cave full of silks and gems in an array of colours catches our eye and tempts us in....mmm pure Goddess clothing. Saying hello and smiling like two cheshire cats at the various clothed/unclothed people passing us we make our way to the pools. There are four in total, all using 100% spring water and no chlorine. As they say, you can shower, cook, drink, brush your teeth or soak for hours with this water if you wish.

Bathing at night is one of the most delicious experiences....as we lower ourselves slowly into the meditation pool everything just melts away....a stream of thoughts dissolving into the water. The sounds of wild animals and the cool night air gently ease us into a tranquil night of sleep.....

Waking up each day sleepy eyed at 7am for the morning meditation we cajole each other into the shower with positive words such as ‘It’ll wake you up’ and ‘It’s the best way to start the day.’ As neither of us are early birds this essential scenario is played out each morning...

Isn’t it funny how you are able to immerse yourself and how much easier it tends to be when you’re in a different environment? The week could be described as both rollercoaster and bliss but one thing was for sure, we were both fully engaged and focused on the present moment- an essential part of Tantra.

Harbin has a wonderful array of workshops that run all the year round. Many are designed around sexuality, intimacy, love and its healing aspects. An important part of the workshop involved bringing to the surface our deepest fears and insecurities...wow, it certainly did bring things up, including a great deal of resistance in most of us. However, then we are able to move beyond these feelings, revealing us in our pure and true nature. Thank goodness for much laughter and dance to lighten the mood!
It reaffirms to us the deep healing power that Tantra has on our own lives, and the personal transformational effects we witnessed in the group we were honoured to be a part of. We found Harbin to be the perfect retreat centre to study and progress with our own personal tantric journey, a path that unfolds the deepest truth and joy within ourselves.
